Along the Twisting Way: The Faerie Ring Campaign Guide (Pathfinder)

Nail down the furniture, and hide the children… the fey are coming!

The Faerie Ring is here! Welcome to the worlds of the fey. You'll meet fey lords and their servitors and travel to strange, far-away lands.

Most cultures easily rattle off stories of the fey, portraying them in the most colorful of ways. On the surface, the tales seem little more than entertainment and whimsy, perhaps a moral interjected here and there. More often than not, they are so contradictory or ridiculous as to be easily dismissed. However, if you look long enough, you eventually realize that the fey are simply more diverse and complicated than previously imagined.

The fey aren’t like you and me.

In this book, you’ll find...

  • Secrets of the fey laid bare
  • Fey origin myths, philosophies, and social habits
  • Wonders of the Preternatural Planes
  • 11 fey lords and their demesnes
  • New fey subtypes, 30 fey NPCs, 45 new fey monsters, 22 fey artifacts
  • And more of the craziness that can only come from the fey

The Faerie Ring brings you the worlds of the fey. From the fey lords to those that serve them. Their lands, their magics, their machinations. Everything you need to bring a fresh dose of fey to your game.

Along the Twisting Way: The Faerie Ring Campaign Guide (Pathfinder) is a full-color, 344-page PDF from Zombie Sky Press. It uses the Open Game License and the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Compatibility License. It is compatible with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and standard 3.5E fantasy RPGs.

How does this differ from "The First World: Realm of the Fey" and "Fey Revisited"? thanks!

Perfectly compatible with Paizo's First World, Michael. The main focus of this book are the fey lords. Each chapter details these powerful fey figures (sovereigns and quiddities, complete with stats) and their histories/mythologies, lays out their demesnes (magical lands that they can control) and their servitors (those fey somehow tied to them, for good or for bad). The book presents a ton of new fey and fey subtypes (plus artifacts). If you're already using the First World in your game, this is a great book to expand on that. Plus there's already a Player's Guide out and a Magic Guide forthcoming. And you can check out The Faerie Ring Prelude, which is free here at DTRPG, which give you the entire intro and delves into the fey's role in the multiverse. And many Paizo designers had hands on this, including James Sutter and Amanda Hamon, who created one of the fey sovereigns, Oleron. Hope that helps! :)

Fair. This isn't tied to any one world. It was intended so that you could play just in the worlds of Faerie or add whatever bits you like to your own. You can treat it as just a bestiary or as setting material. In case you're still curious, here's a longer sample that includes some additional material than just the intro: https://www.zombiesky.com/uploads/6/3/0/4/63045041/tfr_pdf_cg_5e_final_v2__pdf_sample_.pdf

Thank you! That was my idea - to use it as a stand alone setting.

I just got word that the developer is nearly finished with the 5E Campaign Guide, and I hope to have the PDF then laid out and ready for the public by the end of Oct. Thanks for your patience! :)

Missed your follow up comment. Thanks so much for your patience! It definitely took longer than expected. You've likely seen by now that we released the 5E Campaign Guide earlier this year (April), linked below. We're plowing ahead with the Player's Guide, which just released for Pathfinder and we're finishing up for 5E.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
