The Fate Codex Anthology, Year Two

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Fate Codex is a mostly-monthly e-zine featuring Quick Start Adventures and more for the Fate roleplaying system. The project, funded through Patreon, grows and swells as more patrons support our work. We've been lucky to have lots of folks pledge, enough to finish up our second year--and volume--of The Fate Codex!

Now we've put together all the issues of that second volume of The Fate Codex into this one anthology. Inside, you'll find issues 2.1 through 2.6 of The Fate Codex, complete with the fiction, essays, systems, quickstarts, and art that make The Fate Codex great.

The pages of this volume feature hundreds of pages of original Fate Codex content produced by a massive miscellany of authors, including: Tracy Barnett, Heather Beauregard, Richard Bellingham, Don Bisdorf, Brendan Conway, Jason Corley, Marissa Kelly, Kira Magrann, Koji Nishuchi, Mike Olson, Jon Peacock, Jacob Possin, Helena Real, Sarah Richardson, Travis Scott, Mark Diaz Truman, Clark Valentine, and Nicole Winchester.

The art from the original issues is carried over to the anthology as well, with works by such artists as: Olivia Boyd, Marissa Kelly, Mike Mumah, and Juan Ochoa.

Now we're bringing this content to you on DriveThruRPG, so you can find and download the entirety of the second volume of The Fate Codex with ease. Pick up this anthology, and you'll be swimming in fantastic content for the Fate system, from captivating fiction; essays on how to use flashbacks in Fate, using corruption mechanics to fall under the sway of the dark side of humanity, and building dread for horror games; and Quick Start adventures featuring serial killers, secret agents, and warrior princesses!

In addition to reprinting all the existing content, we've added a new Quick Start Adventure to this collection: Helena Real's Banshee:

The servants of Death work to ensure that mortals perish according to the instructions laid out in The Book. Will they succeed in their mission? Or fall prey to the pleasures of the mortal world?

Huge thanks to our production team members who helped make these issues a reality--John Adamus, Amanda Valentine, Shelley Harlan, Thomas Deeny, Justin Rogers, and Sally Christensen, thank you all for your amazing hard work! And thanks especially to Thomas Deeny for making this anthology a reality! We hope you enjoy this first volume of The Fate Codex!

PURCHASER
I believe that the publishers are NOT emailed when a comment is posted on their products' webpages, so, perhaps I can help—

which gets you the print and PDF.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
