This Narrator's Screen is meant for use with BASH! Fantasy: Legends of Steel. It includes 8 pages that can be printed and inserted into a landscape vynyl GM Screen. You can either use a 6-panel screen and choose which pages you want to use, or you can use an 8-panel screen to use all of them. The pages of information include:

Artwork: A Barbarian woman fights off a wizard and his lizardman minions as her pal the thief tries to jimmy a lock.

Rules References: Includes Lighting & Hazards, Non-Magical Healing, Wrestling Rules, Traps, and Benefits and Hindrances

Equipment: Includes Armor, Ranged and Melee Weapons, and Other Gear

Random Encounters: Includes tables of Random Encounters for Jungle, Forest, Desert, Grassland, Mountain, Arctic, Sea, Swamp, Freshwater, Road, Cavern, and City.

Quick Reference Encounters: Includes combat statistics and notes for 34 likely encounters from Ape (Carniverous) to Zombie.

Quick Reference: This page should be set facing the players (or print out two of them and have one on each side). Includes Collateral Damage, Special Rules (like Called Shots, Improved Weapons, Shaking Off Wounds, Pushing Yourself), Base Movement Rates, Actions Possible in the Single Panel, standard Target Numbers, and the color-coded Dice Roll Chart.

Poisons and Extended Checks: Tables includes the effects of 7 poisons and 12 different types of Extended Checks.

Map of Erisa: A map of the setting for BASH! Fantasy: Legends of Steel.

NOTE: Print on Demand is In Development. In the meantime, you can print this for use from your home printer. Be sure that your printer is set to print in landscape format before you begin. Some printers may do this automatically, others may need adjusting.

Inserting Into a Vynyl GM Screen: For best results, use photo-paper, or print to cardstock to make it easier to slide the sheets into the pockets of a landscape vynyl GM screen. Alternatively, if you print to regular paper, use a piece of cardstock to help slide in the paper smoothly.

 Game Master Screens (Landscape)

Many publishers offer GM Screen Inserts which are professionally printed cardstock pages designed to slide into the pockets of our deluxe GM Screens. When you purchase the GM Screen Inserts, you have the option to purchase the screen itself with the inserts, and when you do the inserts are free.

Our deluxe, black vinyl screens are:

Thick and durable - It's the last GM Screen you'll ever need to buy.

Large - Four panels wide and each panel has clear pockets on both sides to hold a total of 8 inserted pages

Customizable and Reusable - As you change campaigns or game systems, you need only remove and replace the inserts

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
