Battlefield Press, Inc presents Gaslight. A Victorian Fantasy where technology meets sorcery, where fantasy meets history. A world where Humans co-exist with Vampires, where fantasy meets history. Beast Men, Werewolves and Wildlings. A land of secret organizations and hidden agendas. Welcome to a Victorian world of magic, non humans and technology all trying to take their rightful place in society. Meet Vampire Detectives, Beast Men Sheriffs, and Wildling Rogues. Non humans in society exist from their counterparts in Victorian literature. An interesting and unique setting for Savage Worlds.

In Gaslight you will find:
• A history of Gaslight Earth
• Four new races each with their own specific Arcane Backgrounds
• A host of new general and race-specific edges
• A Target-Number based Wealth system
• Rules for Social Standing
• Weapons and equipment from the Victorian era
• A detailed Gazetteer and Timeline

A Players Guide for the Savage World System published by Pinnacle Entertainment Group.

"Gaslight makes for a fun game, especially with groups already primed for this setting. I
think groups unfamiliar with the time period will also enjoy the additions to Savage Worlds this book contributes." - Todd Cash; Flames Rising

No, it has not. It will be but because of the issues we were facing we are nearly a year behind on all our projects. It is the next one on the list after we finish getting this last Kickstarter we are trying to fulfill out the door. Its been a tough year for me and my family. We apologize for not getting this out sooner.

No need to apologize! I am a backer of your current Kickstarter and very much looking forward to it. You can only do what you can do! I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed it

We are in the process of getting issues fixed for a Adventure Edition version, we will also at some point update the pdf to fix the issues in the SWD version as well. Thank you everyone for your comments, they are much appreciated. My only comment is that when this book came out I was very ill and didnt give it the attention that it deserved before its release. So, thank you all for your support.

As someone who owns the 2nd Edition, what are the changes from that to this 3rd Edition?

I just picked this up on PDF here, and noticed that some elements of the d20 version are present in the text. For example, the TNs for a werewolf to resist transformation are insanely high for Savage Worlds (10-25). That has to be a holdover from d20. There are some magic items that also have some d20 rules in them, like Will saves and negative levels in the soul-stealing camera. Those are the two that stuck out at me on a quick look through.

Also, does this version no longer restrict arcane backgrounds to humans? I recall it being that way in 2e, but I can't find mention of it here. Are all of the ABs in the core Savage Worlds book available as well?

I noticed a layout error as well. The sidebar on Shambala is repeated a few pages later.

There was not suppose to be a restriction of AB to just humans in the previous edition, we have fixed that. There was no reason you could not have just ignored that previously anyway, we did. :D

Im also going to post an errata for this version of the book, I am going through and trying to find all the errors.

The Ghost could use a little love, IMO. Its Fear Me ability doesn't have a radius of effect (unless the power is meant to be line-of-sight), the Ethereal ability is seemingly another hold-over from d20 (50% chance to be hurt by weapons), and unlike all of the other non-human races it doesn't have any Racial Edges to choose from.

I will take a look at the Ghost and see what we can do about it. I really do appreciate all your insights, this will help make this a better book.

This is confusing. The blurb at the side says this is 80 pages long, and yet according to the pdf in the preview there are over 100 pages. Which is correct?

I apologize. The side blurb has now been fixed. There are 140 pages in the book, including the cover.

I would actually like some ability to get the Second Edition myself, both for completeness's sake and because sometimes the old editions have dropped and/or forgotten notes and ideas that don't quite mesh with newer versions, but could be good for reference or material elsewhere.

My suggestion? Make a bundle product that contains the Second and Third Editions of Savage Worlds Gaslight Victorian Fantasy (and perhaps even the First Edition as well), make the Second (and maybe First) Edition cost a small amount on top of the Third Edition's price, and have the earlier versions only available through that bundle, which requires buying the newer version anyway. This sells the new edition, but keeps the old versions available for completionists, as well as older references.

Just something to consider. You could do the same thing with Sherwood, as well, at least for Savage Worlds again.

I haven't set aside the funds to get this, yet, but I plan to!
Just a quick question, though... I see that Vampire is no longer listed among the playable races. Why the change? Just curious.

Vampires are still a playable race, I am not sure why they didnt make it into the TOC. We didnt notice the error, and as errors go its relatively minor. It will probably be fixed in a future update.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
