The Immortals Companion is an unofficial supplement for the fifth edition of the worlds greatest roleplaying game.

Presented here are five sets of rules, most of which are conversions of rules from previous editions of the game, and all of which are updated for use with fifth edition.

These are:

* Dominion management rules, from the old "Companion" set.

* Mass combat rules, from the old "Companion" set.

* Rules for magical "Essence" that can be used to create magic items, from 4th edition.

* Rules for immortals, from the old "Immortals" set (including rules for a five dimensional multiverse!)

* Rules for time travel, extrapolated from the examples of time travel found in various classic adventures.

The rules are presented in a modular fashion, so you can choose which modules to use in your campaign.

So I can't seem to find it, but what are the stats of an exalted vessel?

Is the Domains chapter OGL? I get that it's PWYW and it's easy to just get the PDF and check. But, it'll be nice to have an answer here so people can see at a glance. ♥

I love the book. But I have one question. Is there a way to convert old BR and BFR from the old systems to the new? I have the Gazeteers and Poor Almanacs which have a lot of army information. Just wondering if you can convert old material.

My "Rank" is equivalent to the old system's "Troop Class".
My "Battle Rating" is the same as the old system's "Battle Rating" divided by five.
I don't have a direct equivalent of the old "Basic Force Rating", but you can use the old system to convert it into a Troop Class and use a Rank that matches it. (If you don't have the old system, divide the Basic Force Rating by five, and then look across the top row of the Battle Rating table on page 19 - the row for a Capability of 0 - and when you find the one that most closely matches the BFR/5, that's the Rank of the army.)

I'm looking for clarification on the Domains section, specifically about resources and assignment: the domains can have up to 10 resources, with 3 resource types.
Assigning families to resources seems to make resources of the same type useless
There is no distinction between a domain that should be poor because it's resources are Animal, Vegetable, Mineral and a rich one that has three of each.
There is a penalty to any Domain with over 5 resources as having less than 20% assigned to a resource reduces confidence. In fact that "poor" domain from the previous line is optimal when this is taken into consideration.

1) While you roll a d10 for resources, this doesn't mean that domains can have a maximum of ten of them. They have a maximum of four (see the table on p12).
2) Yes, pretty much. While having a mineral resource is useful; having multiple isn't any more lucrative than having one. Having fifty families mining gems or twenty five families mining/cutting gems and twenty five mining/smelting iron gives you the same income, because in either case you have fifty families exploiting mineral resources. It's assumed that in cases like this you'll be producing much more iron per worker than gems but the overall income from each will be about the same. More types of resource aren't necessarily better (although the variety of resources will be taken into account by the DM when deciding what random events occur - for example a collapse in the iron mine won't put your entire mineral production out of action if you also have a gem mine).
3) You don't get domains that have three of each so this situation never occurs....See more

Thanks! While writing a script to generate domains and auto-assign families I had a hard time generating any that would hit the corner cases you covered. Didn't put 2 and 2 together in my head, thank you for clarifying.

(I'll make sure to message you if anything worthwhile comes of it)

Is there any way to turn off the background?

I agree the background here looks unsanitary, but the real answer is - use a viewer that allows this.

No idea if anything can specifically turn off pictures, however. Other than by copypasting the text from viewer to text editor.
MuPDF has "Toggle between color and grayscale rendering" [c] and "Toggle between normal and inverted color rendering" [i] - usually either or both are enough.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
